Whenever undertaking projects of this scale safety and security is among our primary considerations. We always consult with architects and/or structural engineers to ensure that our structures conform to all current safety codes and regulations. A commission for a job in this area can encompass a range variables. The material may be Cast Iron, Wrought Iron, Mild Steel, Stainless Steel. There will often be an emphasis on design and quality of finish. There is always a need for functionality and usability as well as security. We understand all of these variables are equally important to consider on projects such as these. We are often asked to repair historic Gates and Railings, which is where we draw from our collective years of experience, as these projects require care and attention. Historic materials must be considered carefully when it comes to planning their repair and meeting them with modern materials and techniques. As well as the repair of Gates and Railings, we are also requested to build and fabricate them, whether from scratch or as replacements. We were able to undo some of the amateur modifications it had undergone and bring it back to a semblance of how it would have left the factory, and once again fully functional. When it comes to agriculture it’s all about getting the job done. With our workshop where it is, in the grounds of Manor Farm, Upton Cheney, we are often called upon by our farmer landlord and other local farmers when they need something completely bespoke made for a specific purpose. There’s no such thing as ‘off the shelf’ for these commissions, so we have to tailor our work specifically to the needs of the job, and often a quick turnaround is needed to keep the farm running smoothly. We enjoy these jobs as they often appear spontaneously and are always different and interesting. Our personal experience spans from village chapels to central London churches. The UK has a vast number of chapels and churches, most are considerably aged and in need of regular repair and maintenance. We are proud to have built excellent relationships with the churches we have helped repair, understanding that each will have differing needs and budgets. A soft touch is often required when working with buildings of this age, which is why we approach each project uniquely, working with the caretakers to make the sympathetic repairs that will blend with the existing materials.
